Hi, I'm Jacopo Simonini. I am a technology enthusiast with a dedicated focus on cybersecurity. In a world that runs on code, I believe security isn't just a feature, it's a foundation.
My passion lies in understanding how systems work so I can protect them from how they break. Whether I'm analyzing network traffic, scripting automation tools, or solving complex security puzzles, I approach every challenge with curiosity and a defensive mindset. Want a different view? Anomaly Detection
Finds faulty water pumps by their sound. A convolutional autoencoder learns what normal audio looks like as log-mel spectrograms, and classical detectors flag what doesn't fit.
This project is a university study on detecting anomalies in water-pump audio recordings. Each recording is split into short windows and converted into log-mel spectrograms, and a convolutional autoencoder is trained on normal sounds only. The compressed representations it learns are then fed to classical detectors such as Isolation Forest, Local Outlier Factor and One-Class SVM, and compared with the autoencoder's own reconstruction error. The Python pipeline runs end to end in a Jupyter notebook and is covered by unit tests written with pytest.
Simulates a drone talking to several transmitters through Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces at 10.7 GHz, and measures how flight pattern and speed change the signal.
This project provides a MATLAB-based simulation for modeling wireless communication between a drone and multiple transmitters enhanced by Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS). The simulation leverages the QuaDRiGa channel model to evaluate how different movement patterns, speeds, and transmitter configurations affect signal propagation in a high-frequency environment at 10.7 GHz. It is designed for research and experimentation in wireless communication systems, RIS-assisted propagation, and UAV (drone) mobility modeling.
